Original Artwork, in Acrylics & Oils.
In the captivating scene depicted in “Quicksilver,” a determined Frog, accompanied by his trusty mount, an Oranda Carp, embarks on a daring quest in pursuit of elusive prey: a swift and elusive Barracuda. Despite the formidable challenge posed by their quarry, the Frog and his aquatic companion press forward with unwavering determination, their resolve unshaken by the daunting task ahead.
The title, “Quicksilver,” serves as a poignant metaphor for the relentless pursuit of dreams. Much like the elusive metallic element, dreams often seem to slip through our grasp at the very moment we believe we are on the cusp of achieving them. Yet, the essence of the chase lies not solely in the attainment of the dream itself, but in the journey, the pursuit, and the unwavering commitment to one’s aspirations.
For in the pursuit of our dreams, we discover not only the depths of our resilience and determination but also the true essence of our being. To relent in the face of adversity is to lose sight not only of our goals but also of the core of our identity. Thus, “Quicksilver” serves as a powerful reminder to persevere, to pursue our dreams with tenacity and vigour, for it is in the pursuit that we uncover the true richness of life.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
Yet, my attention extends beyond the artwork itself; the frames for Original Artworks hold equal significance. Through experience, I’ve learnt how a well-selected frame can elevate a piece, sometimes even reshaping its interpretation. Every choice, from canvas to frame, is a deliberate step towards crafting not just art, but an experience.
