On a fateful day, amidst one such excursion, I chanced upon a hare engaged in the mundane yet captivating act of grooming itself—a scene both familiar and enchanting. When the time came to translate this vision into art, I opted for a departure from my signature style, embracing a more relaxed and spontaneous approach. Eschewing the intricate “tendrils of colour” that had come to define my earlier works, I embraced a looser, more overtly figurative style—a bold step towards uncharted creative territory. Harnessing the fluidity of acrylic pens, I sought to imbue the composition with a sense of dynamism, capturing the essence of movement with each stroke of the brush. Thus, “Washing the Hare” emerged as a celebration of simplicity and spontaneity—an ode to the timeless allure of the natural world.
