Original Artwork, in Acrylics.
In the realm of artistry, some creations transcend the need for explanation, existing solely for their intrinsic beauty and enigmatic allure. Such is the case with ‘The Whisperer’. Why, you may ask, does a White Rabbit perch atop our Dryad’s head? The answer, quite simply, eludes the need for rationalization. Instead, let us embrace the notion that secrets are best shared in whispers, shrouded in mystery and intrigue.
Secrets, as we know, wield profound influence. Whether borne by the bearer or unravelled by the seeker, their potency lies in their dissemination. For what purpose does a secret serve if consigned to oblivion?
Several nuances in this piece warrant acclaim. The intricate lace ruff adorning The Whisperer emerged from fortuitous experimentation, adding a touch of ethereal elegance. Furthermore, the aqua-toned backdrop juxtaposed against the vibrant red-orange locks accentuates their radiance.
‘The Whisperer’ also signifies a pivotal juncture in my artistic odyssey. It marked my divergence from traditional wildlife studies, symbolizing a departure from the comfort of familiarity towards uncharted creative territories. In late 2019, I sensed a stagnation in my artistic evolution, prompting a quest for renewed inspiration and innovation. Reflecting upon this transformative phase, it’s evident that embracing change was imperative for artistic growth and vitality.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
Yet, my attention extends beyond the artwork itself; the frames for Original Artworks hold equal significance. Through experience, I’ve learnt how a well-selected frame can elevate a piece, sometimes even reshaping its interpretation. Every choice, from canvas to frame, is a deliberate step towards crafting not just art, but an experience.
