Original Artwork, in Oils.
In ‘The Gossamer Thread,’ we bear witness to a timeless ritual, repeated endlessly throughout the cycles of existence. Our gaze falls upon the fair maiden, guiding her Lion Fish companion towards the sea’s embrace. It’s a poignant moment, for the loyal navigator, having served faithfully, now embarks on its journey homeward. The maiden must release her companion, bidding farewell as it ventures forth into the unknown currents of life.
In this exchange, the maiden employs the subtlest of gossamer threads, a fragile bond upheld by both leader and follower. It’s a reflection of our own interconnectedness, guided and guiding along the intricate paths of destiny.
These threads, woven from loyalty, faith, love, and duty, are delicate yet sacred ties that bind us together. They represent the ritualistic bonds of human connection, ingrained deeply within our beings, fostering a sense of belonging.
Yet, amidst the tapestry of life, there come moments when we must sever these threads to facilitate growth and progress. Such is the nature of existence, where pain and pleasure intertwine to form the fabric of our experiences.
In embracing acceptance and gratitude, we find equilibrium in life’s ebb and flow, acknowledging the duality of our journey and the transformative power of letting go. Acceptance and gratitude in a balanced life.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
Yet, my attention extends beyond the artwork itself; the frames for Original Artworks hold equal significance. Through experience, I’ve learnt how a well-selected frame can elevate a piece, sometimes even reshaping its interpretation. Every choice, from canvas to frame, is a deliberate step towards crafting not just art, but an experience.
