In the intricate tapestry of ‘The Dreamcatchers,’ there’s a wealth of detail waiting to be unravelled. Central to the narrative is the dynamic duo of a Grizzly Bear and his Hare companion, embarking on a hunting expedition. Adorned in resplendent attire, the Bear cuts a striking figure with his intricately embroidered throw and sturdy armour. The Hare, on the other hand, exudes charm in his clever disguise. Look close and you can spot a helmet styled to resemble a fish-head, a waistcoat fashioned from fish scales and a cloak that blends in with the clouds. All this, to avoid detection by their elusive quarry: a fleet of Flying Fish.
Despite their initial success in snaring a couple of catches, our brave adventurers are poised on the brink of peril. Unbeknownst to them, one of the balloons tethering their capture-jar aloft has drifted away, causing the container to sag perilously and threatening to spill its contents. Moreover, their unwitting proximity to a cascading waterfall adds a sense of imminent danger to their quest.
In essence, ‘The Dreamcatchers’ serves as a poignant allegory for the meticulous attention to detail required when pursuing one’s dreams or aspirations. Careening heedlessly towards objectives without considering the ramifications may lead to unforeseen hazards lurking just beyond the horizon—a sobering reminder that success often hinges on the strength of the tether tying our ambitions to reality.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
