Steady As We Go… is a captivating underwater composition that invites viewers into a fantastical realm where resilience and support are at the forefront. This striking artwork features two green turtles gracefully ‘flying’ over a submerged sea-cliff—a dramatic, birds‐eye view that brings a sense of expansive wonder and depth to the scene.
In the centre, a large green turtle, adorned with a traditional shield, leads the journey. Delicate streams of bubbles trail its path, conveying movement and vitality. Positioned subtly in the background, a second turtle mirrors the leader’s course, reinforcing the enduring message that no one navigates life’s abyss alone. Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
