Original Artwork, in Acrylics & Oils.
In the whirlwind of life’s myriad demands and experiences, we find ourselves constantly navigating the elements. Striving to maintain balance and harmony. ‘Playing With the Elements’ encapsulates this delicate dance, portraying a figure stripped bare. She is intimately connected with the natural world and its elemental forces. She stands, unclothed, a testament to her reconnection with the Earth. Her flaming red hair symbolising the fire of passion and renewal that courses through her being.
Surrounded by creatures of land, sea, and air, she embodies the essence of life itself. The fishes, representatives of the water that sustains us, swim alongside the bird of the air we breathe. Meanwhile, the watch in her hand serves as a reminder of the ever-flowing river of time in which we all dwell.
But there’s more to her story than meets the eye. Resting on her knee lies a key to the future, a potent symbol of the power she holds within her grasp. And intertwined with her existence is the Passion Flower, a poignant emblem of human emotion and creativity. It guides her dreams and fuels her artistic endeavours.
Originally conceived from a simple sketch drawn years ago, this painting underwent a transformation into a labour of love, a testament to the artist’s dedication and passion. From exploring the nuances of skin tones to capturing the ethereal beauty of a Dryad, every brushstroke was infused with meticulous care and artistic vision.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
Yet, my attention extends beyond the artwork itself; the frames for Original Artworks hold equal significance. Through experience, I’ve learnt how a well-selected frame can elevate a piece, sometimes even reshaping its interpretation. Every choice, from canvas to frame, is a deliberate step towards crafting not just art, but an experience.
