The significance of this discovery is underscored by the presence of an Amethyst nearby, casting a shadow of doubt and uncertainty over their mission. After all: what jewels adorn the Hare’s chest? Amethysts! This must be all that’s left of ‘the missing courier!’ With their attention diverted from their precious cargo of wax-sealed scrolls and parcels, their immediate concern turns to a new possibility… That they may be the next targets of whatever sinister force lurks in the shadows.

And they have ample reason to be nervous, for what DOES lurk in the shadows? Could they be… eyes?

But amidst the suspense, the painting offers a wealth of intriguing details to discover. The graceful rise and fall of the lamp, reminiscent of the mesmerising lure of the deep-sea Angler Fish, captivates the imagination. Additionally, we have the Hare’s distinctive adornments.
