My home village of Ramsbury is bordered by the picturesque, rolling Wiltshire Downs. A few miles down the road, can be found the ancient standing stones of Avebury… So it was perhaps inevitable that I would pay homage to the marvels of this enchanting corner of the world. The inspiration drawn from the mesmerising nocturnal sky gave birth to ‘Moon Dancer’. This painting delivers a tribute to the celestial ballet that unfolds every night over our heads.
In the ethereal glow of Physalis, our Hare takes centre stage, swept up in a captivating dance with the luminous moon. Yet, he is not solitary in this sylvan glade; a Fallow Deer stands sentinel beside a tree, while an Owl, the custodian of the Standing Stones, keeps a watchful eye.
Amidst the berry-laden brambles, a Stoat in its snowy ermine coat and a humble Fieldmouse bear witness to the hare’s enchantment.
Upon closer inspection, a cloud of fireflies illuminates the ancient stones, and the moon itself reveals the visage of a hare. And true to the symbolic tradition of my work, a balloon floats overhead, signifying the presence of magic. Balloons are cherished by our seasoned collectors, who know that wherever a balloon appears, enchantment is afoot.
Our Fine-Art Prints use archival papers in two weights. For everything up to – and including – our ‘Signature Editions’, we use 210gsm Fotospeed Smooth; a versatile paper that offers exceptional contrast and detail. For the larger ‘Premium Editions’, we use Fotospeed’s 315gsm NST. Thanks to subtle textures similar to traditional etching papers, coupled to bright-white bases, both of these 100%-cotton, fine-art papers deliver revelatory, impactful images that will stand the test of time. Furthermore, we only ever use OEM inks that are rich in pigments & offer a consistent level of reproduction.
