“Moon Daisy” holds a deeply poignant significance within the artist’s soul. It emerged from a period marked by the loss of Ann’s mother… A cherished time of solace and healing. Reflecting on this creation, it feels almost inevitable that Ann would gravitate towards a softer, more nurturing palette here. Moon Daisy marks a departure from the bold hues often seen in her other hare compositions.
Lost in the ebb and flow of brushstrokes, Ann found solace amidst the fluid patterns, each stroke a gentle caress of remembrance and catharsis. The delicate balance between the shifting hues of orange and mauve in the backdrop suggests tales of resilience and renewal. It invites interpretation from those who gaze upon it.
Equally enamoured by the depiction of the daisies, Ann revels in their delicate beauty, each petal a testament to the tender intricacies of life amidst loss.
As therapeutic to behold as it was to create, “Moon Daisy” offers a sanctuary of contemplation; serenity for those who immerse themselves in its ethereal embrace. Witnessing the entranced gazes of viewers fills Ann’s heart with gratitude, knowing that from the depths of sorrow emerged a beacon of solace that touches the hearts of others.
Throughout my journey as an artist, I’ve tried various surfaces & colours… From acrylics on boxed canvas to the refined oils on board I now employ. Each combination wields a distinct influence over the final outcome. Canvas imbues a rustic charm, its weave adding texture. For intricate details, only oil on board suffices, offering subtle nuances and unmatched ability to blend.
Yet, my attention extends beyond the artwork itself; the frames for Original Artworks hold equal significance. Through experience, I’ve learnt how a well-selected frame can elevate a piece, sometimes even reshaping its interpretation. Every choice, from canvas to frame, is a deliberate step towards crafting not just art, but an experience.
