Let’s talk about ‘Dinner For One’, shall we? After trudging through the dark forest, lighting a cosy fire and setting up camp feels like a small luxury. Yet, that annoying companion lingers, always ready to pilfer food. It’s not your fault they ate all theirs before lunch, is it?
As if that’s not enough, a new smell catches your attention. Burning paper? Surely not. But then, a sense of unease creeps in. Is someone watching? The smell persists, and before you know it, the map is aflame.
In ‘Dinner For One?’, the narrative delves into themes of envy and negligence. The giant panda embodies diligence, rationing resources for later. In contrast, the frivolous red panda symbolises envy and coveting others’ possessions. The burning map serves as a cautionary symbol, reminding us to remain vigilant even in moments of tranquility.
As with all my works, layers of meaning are woven in, encouraging reflection and contemplation. So, while you may have been admiring the Pandas, there’s much more to ponder beneath the surface.
Our Fine-Art Prints use archival papers in two weights. For everything up to – and including – our ‘Signature Editions’, we use 210gsm Fotospeed Smooth; a versatile paper that offers exceptional contrast and detail. For the larger ‘Premium Editions’, we use Fotospeed’s 315gsm NST. Thanks to subtle textures similar to traditional etching papers, coupled to bright-white bases, both of these 100%-cotton, fine-art papers deliver revelatory, impactful images that will stand the test of time. Furthermore, we only ever use OEM inks that are rich in pigments & offer a consistent level of reproduction.
