Ascension, the third painting, captures the transformative culmination of the journey. The blue butterfly has now become part of the young woman herself, extending out as a pair of luminous wings. This piece embodies the merging of idea and self, the certainty that emerges when clarity is fully achieved.
The monarch butterflies have now gathered on her back, forming delicate, wing-like shapes that shift in colour to match the vivid electric blue of the butterfly. This vivid transformation reflects her embrace of the idea, turning once-distracting elements into something uplifting. Meanwhile, the armoured mouse departs, carried aloft by the balloon. Its task completed, it seeks another journey, symbolising the ephemeral nature of guidance—it arrives when needed, then moves on.
In Ascension, we find the joy of fully accepting one’s own insights. This piece offers viewers an image of freedom, illustrating the liberation that comes when one has found and integrated a meaningful idea. For collectors, Ascensionsymbolises clarity and fulfilment—a vision of inspiration carried forward with certainty. It encourages all who see it to consider their own journey of understanding and to celebrate those moments when inspiration truly takes flight.
Our Fine-Art Prints use archival papers in two weights. For everything up to – and including – our ‘Signature Editions’, we use 210gsm Fotospeed Smooth; a versatile paper that offers exceptional contrast and detail. For the larger ‘Premium Editions’, we use Fotospeed’s 315gsm NST. Thanks to subtle textures similar to traditional etching papers, coupled to bright-white bases, both of these 100%-cotton, fine-art papers deliver revelatory, impactful images that will stand the test of time. Furthermore, we only ever use OEM inks that are rich in pigments & offer a consistent level of reproduction.
