“Storm Brewing” emerged as a deeply gratifying artistic endeavor, its genesis rooted in a poignant encounter with nature’s resilience. One fateful day, as I gazed out from my studio, I beheld a solitary Hare nestled amidst the vast expanse of the field, bracing itself against the impending tempest brewing on the distant horizon. The scene struck a chord within me, evoking a profound sense of admiration for the creature’s stoic resolve in the face of impending adversity—a stark contrast to the apprehension I might have felt in similar circumstances.
In crafting this evocative portrayal, I endeavored to capture the hare’s essence with delicacy and precision. Each feathery brushstroke, meticulously applied, imbues the creature’s fur with a sense of movement and vitality, as if stirred by the impending gusts of wind. The alert posture of its upright ears speaks volumes of its vigilance, attuned to the subtle nuances of the impending drama unfolding in the skies above.
Moreover, let us delve into the atmospheric backdrop—a symphony of swirling blues that mirror the impending tempest. A subtle interplay of light and shadow, achieved through deft dry-brushing techniques, lends a dramatic depth to the scene, hinting at the interplay between impending storm clouds and fleeting rays of sunlight piercing through the tumultuous sky.
In “Storm Brewing,” I sought to encapsulate not just a moment in time, but a narrative of resilience and fortitude—a testament to the enduring spirit of nature in the face of adversity.
Our Fine-Art Prints use archival papers in two weights. For everything up to – and including – our ‘Signature Editions’, we use 210gsm Fotospeed Smooth; a versatile paper that offers exceptional contrast and detail. For the larger ‘Premium Editions’, we use Fotospeed’s 315gsm NST. Thanks to subtle textures similar to traditional etching papers, coupled to bright-white bases, both of these 100%-cotton, fine-art papers deliver revelatory, impactful images that will stand the test of time. Furthermore, we only ever use OEM inks that are rich in pigments & offer a consistent level of reproduction.
